Summer Camp is funJoin us for another fun spring and summer in the garden. With the central setting of WOW: A Children’s Adventure Garden, NatureKids camp offers countless opportunities to learn, play, and make new friends. With activities such as tram rides, nature hikes, and outdoor playtime the garden is the perfect setting for children to experience nature. Returning this year will be our popular “Pirate” and “Animal” weeks as well as other favorites and some new ones. Also we have expanded our popular pre-k camp to three weeks this summer. So mark your calenders and sign up early for a summer of fun.

NATUREKIDS SUMMER CAMP 2010

NatureKids Summer Camp is the place for outdoor exploration, friends and fun.  Discover the magic of the Garden through expeditions, games, stories, songs and crafts while developing a greater appreciation for the natural world.  Gates open at 8:30 a.m. for drop-off. Camp is from 9am-4pm.
For 5-10 year olds (5 year-olds must be rising 1st graders)
Cost: $200/week ($175/week for NBG members)

Eco-Investigation
June 21st-25th
  Follow nature’s clues around the world and back in time to solve a Garden mystery.
Session 2 Mad Scientist: Gooey and Green June 28th-July 2nd 
  Investigate the gooey and green found in nature to discover ways we can help planet Earth.
Session 3 Creature Feature: Feathers, Fur and Scales
July 5th-July 9th
  Get to know our feathered, furry and scaly friends found in and around the Garden. 
Session 4 Pirate Quest
July 12th-July 16th
  Join a pirate crew and follow the world’s waterways uncovering some of Earth’s great treasures.
Session 5 Garden Trails and Tales
July 19th-July 23rd
  Visit the Storybook Forest, hear the tales of plants and learn to craft stories of your own.
Session 6 Creature Feature: Insect Escapade July 26th-July 30th
  Dig into the mini & micro world to discover spiders, worms, and other creepy crawlies inhabiting the soil.
Session 7 Adventures in Agriculture
Aug 2nd-Aug 6th
  Garden art at summer campExperience life on the farm! Plant, grow and harvest crops; encounter farm animals while learning about the history of the food on our plates.
Session 8 Mad Scientist: Extreme Earth Aug 9th-Aug 13th
  Explore extreme land formations, weather conditions and unusual plants and animals of our world.
Session 9 Storybook Forest
Aug 16th-Aug 20th
  Step into the Enchanted Storybook Forest where plants play the lead role. Create your own treasured storybooks to share.
Session 10 Best of Summer Aug 23th-Aug 27th
  Campers throughout the summer choose their favorite programs and we pack them into one final week of fun!

SESAME SEEDS PRE-K CAMP

Planting seeds at summer campMonday-Friday • 9AM-12PM
This half-day camp includes stories, songs, crafts and snacks and lots of outdoor exploration!
Cost: $100/week ($90/week for NBG members)
Morning snack will be provided
For rising kindergartners (must be potty trained)

July 5th-July 9th
    Get to know our feathered, furry, and scaly friends and find them in the Garden.
Week 2 Little Treks and Tales
July 19th-July 23rd
  Listen to stories from the Garden and walk about to find characters near by.
Week 3 Fun On The Farm
Aug 2nd-Aug 6th
  Experience life on the farm; grow veggies, meet the animals and take your crops to a farmer’s market.

LEADERS IN TRAINING CAMP

Campers Ages 11-14
Monday-Friday • 9AM-4PM
Sessions A and B repeat throughout the Summer.
Cost: $150/session ($125/session for NBG members)

“Tween" age campers now have the opportunity to join in the fun of NatureKids Camp as Leaders in Training. Campers will make new friends through leadership training and teamwork initiatives. Leaders in Training will be mentored by Youth Programs Educators as they help lead games and camp activities. All campers will also complete the Red Cross Babysitting course, valued at $55. After completing two sessions of LIT Camp campers can apply to become Camp Volunteers for the 2010 camp sessions.
