A pair of bald eagles arrived at Norfolk Botanical Garden in late fall 2003 to build a nest. Below is a summary of the previous nesting seasons.
2004
- 2 eggs hatched around March 22.
- Both eaglets fledged on May 31.
2005
- One egg hatched March 19.
- Eaglet fledged May 30.
- Eagle cam installed November 14, prior to 2006 nesting season.
2006
- Eagle cam begins operation
- 3 eggs laid between February 2-5. Eggs hatched between March 12-16
- First eaglet fledged June 1. Other two fledged on June 2.
2007
- 1st egg laid on January 31. Hatched March 10. Female
- 2nd egg laid on February 3. Hatched March 13. Male
- 3rd egg laid on February 7. Hatched March 15. Male
- Eaglets are banded by Center for Conservation Biology at William & Mary on April 17. (sex of eagle determined at this time)
- 2 older eaglets fledged June 1. Younger male eaglet fledged June 2.
- Adult eagles begin new nest in a tree 400 feet to the north of the original nest in September
- Camera moved and infrared light added to new nest tree on Dec. 13, 2007
2008
- New nest completed in January.
- 1st egg laid on February 1
- 2nd egg laid on February 4.
- Intruder female eagle disrupted incubation on February 14
- Resident female eagle disappeared February 16 – eggs not viable.
- Eggs removed from nest February 19
- Intruder female departed – NBG female returned unharmed February 22
- 1st egg of second clutch laid on March 16.
- 2nd egg of second clutch laid on March 19
- Something agitated female on the night of March 20 - she jumped up and broke both eggs.
- 3rd egg of second clutch laid on March 22 . Hatched April 27. Male.
- Growth noticed on eaglet’s beak on May 17
- Eaglet removed from nest for examination and biopsy on May 22, then transferred to the Wildlife Center of Virginia for care and recovery of Avian Pox. For more details about the disease and recovery see Wildlife Center of Virginia's Norfolk Botanical Garden Eagle page
- November Adult eagles at NBG began to rebuild old nest. Camera moved back to original location.

Assigned the name Azalea for tracking purposes. Track the middle eaglet - Oldest eaglet (Band HK) fledged June 3.

2010
First egg laid on January 31 at 2:15 pm.
Hatched March 11.- Second egg laid on February 3 at 11:50 am.
